Bradley and Molly wanted to elope to the redwoods in Northern Humboldt so I took them to a place where time stands still, Lady Bird Johnson Grove.

In a cathedral of tall trees, the light filters through the canopy like green and gold stained glass. The trail becomes your fern lined aisle and you walk together towards a shared future in your very best cowboy boots.

Simple can be stunning when you let Mama Nature handle the decor. Among the giants, all you need is love.

After a deeply moving ceremony, they said farewell to the forest and took a postcard worthy drive down Highway 101 from Orick to Trinidad State Beach for cake by the ocean.

A spontaneous idea of picking up a ready made supermarket cake lead to a choice between a seven up flavored or a chocolate. They wisely chose the chocolate and golden hour provided the most beautiful lighting for a seriously sweet moment.

We burned off the sugar rush with a walk, and a few frolics, where the land meets the Pacific Ocean. Molly and Bradley were both game to adventure into the sea foam but heeded my sage advice to wait until towards the end of our time together to make squishy wet boot time minimal.

Redwoods and beach, my favorite type of elopement day. The best of both natural worlds of Humboldt County and so easy to achieve.
